Teenage Bicyclist Struck By Car in Newport Beach
Newport Beach Police reported a 14-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Balboa Peninsula Area. The accident occurred in the vicinity of East Bay and Anade avenues shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 11th. The victim was only identified as a 14-year-old resident of San Carlos. She was reportedly not wearing a helmet. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Police believe the vehicle involved was a silver or white Mercedes-Benz.
