Sarah is a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate with Estey & Bomberger, a former law enforcement officer, an experienced advocate, a writer, a runner, an animal lover, and an adventurer.
Sarah holds a Bachelor’s Degree with concentrations in Biological Sciences and Criminal Justice from Missouri Western State University. Sarah was a Post-Certified PEACE Officer for 10 years and worked as both a deputy sheriff and police officer.
Sarah has worked as a victim advocate for 14 years, specializing in sexual violence and human trafficking. Sarah worked for non-profit agencies and as a Victim Witness Coordinator for a county attorney’s office, providing advocacy and guidance for all victims of criminal matters.
Throughout her career, Sarah has worked in many areas, allowing for experience and education in the multitude of challenges that victims face. She has provided medical advocacy and been with victims through forensic examinations and all follow-up care. She has provided general advocacy, facilitated support groups, assisted with relocation and housing, and worked with providers to secure resources for victims. She has provided legal advocacy through investigations, interaction with law enforcement, and all areas of the criminal justice system. Sarah has served on coalitions, boards, and trained professionals, students, and the general public across multiple states.
In 2022, Sarah received the prestigious “Award for Excellence in Victim Services” from the United States Department of Justice and the United States Attorney’s Office.
In Sarah’s spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, running, biking, hiking, and traveling to new places. She currently lives in Iowa and writes, paints, and spends time with family any chance she gets.
